When I first met with the funeral director, he showed me a photograph of his late wife and comforted me about my ailing mother. He was very kind, and his wife was beautiful in the picture. When my mother did pass a few weeks later, I was happy to work with this establishment for her memorial service. When I arrived at the open-casket funeral, though, I noticed that my mother was dressed in the same dress as the director’s wife was in the photo he showed me. Her hair was also the same as hers. I found it odd but wasn’t sure how to address it and just allowed the service to continue normally. During the funeral, he slipped up while speaking and said his own wife’s name instead of my mother’s. Not sure what to think of this.
