Long and Fisher Funeral Home did a wonderful job with my mother’s services. From the initial consultation to weeks after the services were concluded, they were compassionate and professional throughout. Promptly answered any questions or concerns we had to put our minds at ease as much as possible in that difficult time. I would highly recommend using them!

My father passed away August 26th of this year we contacted Long and Fisher funeral home in sissonville for his services. My fathers immediate family and also my mother's have all dealt with this funeral home for years so it was a given to have his services done through them also. Myself, my mother, and brother went there the day after he passed and planned out to have him cremated.. a few weeks went by we hadn't heard anything so I contacted them and asked if his ashes were back and ready to be picked up they said yes that they hadn't had time to call but his ashes were ready. I drove down there with my mother to pick them up and I get there and walk in tell them what I'm there for and they have my fathers ashes sitting in front of me in a black box that literally looked like something you get out of a filing cabinet. I asked why his ashes were not in the urn they were purchased for and the man stated he was unaware that we had purchased one.. so he goes through the paper work I sit there for the next 30 to 45 minutes while he runs around the building calling people and he comes back to tell me they sold the urn to someone else that we had purchased for my father. As any normal person myself and my mother were extremely upset about this. They told us we could not take his ashes and would have to wait another week until they got a new urn ordered in. A week later we called to see if the new one was in and they said yes my fiance went to pick it up because I was at work and couldn't and when they handed him the urn it had scratches all over it he told them that was absolutely unacceptable and they agreed and said they would ordered another one and would call when it came in. We took his ashes home that day and called back two weeks later again because once again noone had called us and they said noone had ordered the new urn but that they were putting the order in that day also we paid for two death certificates and they had to told us every single previous time we had spoke with them that they had already been mailed out. My fiance drove down there just a week ago and asked to speak with someone in charge because everything we've went through has been absolutely ridiculous the woman he spoke with agreed and said she would get the new urn in and the death certificates because no certificates had been mailed out at all. He received a phone call a day later from a man saying we didnt purchase any certificates but that they would "give them to us for free for our troubles". Mind you my brother has the receipts for both certificates that WERE purchased. Finally this past Wednesday we were able to pick up the new urn and certificates.... as my fiance picked up the urn the guy asked him when he had time to please return the old urn that was scratched up.. when asked why he stated that he had a guy that would fix the scratches and they would RESALE the urn!!!!!!!! So this funeral home re sales urns that ashes have already been placed in!!!!!!!! This place has been an absolute nightmare to my family we have not only dealt with the death of my father but being treated like his services and cremation after words meant nothing. I'm writing this to let people know not to EVER use them for any type of services. These people are horrible!!!!! They also put the wrong information on the death certificates so now we have had to contact them AGAIN for them to fix it. I'm sorry for the long post but again I wouldn't wish this on anyone and I felt like people should know ahead of time how this funeral home treats people. *I'm sure half my words are spelled wrong and my punctuation is horrible in this post but that was the last of my concerns*
