I recently had to use the services of Gibbons Family Funeral Home. I was very impressed with the care and compassion that the Michael Gibbons and his staff showed me and my family. They were very helpful in making the arrangements, and they went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable. The funeral itself was beautiful, Michael made my family’s grieving process a lot easier to handle. I would highly recommend Gibbons Family Funeral Home to anyone who is in need of their services.

Compassionate, caring, and loving people who go the extra mile to help during the most difficult time in your life. Everything they did for me and my family was above and beyond. Highly recommend Gibbons family funeral home for your typical time in life. My family has been dealing Gibbons family for over 50 years.

If I could give you any advice, stay as far away from this funeral home (and their two other family owned funeral homes: Gibbons Funeral Home in Elmhurst and the Oaks in Itasca) as you can. They are all run by the same family (The Gibbons) and are a complete disgrace to the industry. Let’s start off with how the people who work at each location (Mike, Colleen, and Cindy/Andrea/Mike) are only concerned with the check you write at the end of the day. No one who works at any of these locations has ANY compassion for the grieving families. After all the lies and having several major issues with the service received at The Oaks by Cindy, Andrea, and Mike, we were forced to talk to Colleen from the Gibbons Funeral Home in Elmhurst who was nothing, but rude from the moment she picked up the phone. She acted as if the phone call concerning these said issues was an inconvenience for her. She continued to lie and make up stories and never called my family back, even though she said she would. Taking matters into our own hands, we were then forced to speak to Mike at the Gibbons Funeral Home in Chicago (which is what this review is about). Once again, Mike acted as if our issues were an inconvenience for him. He was nothing, but rude and ignorant. The people who work at these funeral homes make choices for you and your family without even consulting or getting the families consent. They make choices for you that they should not be allowed to do so and don’t even show any remorse. Even after they do that, they lie and try to cover it up. Even Mike from the Chicago Funeral Home tried to lie and cover up, while making excuses for what had happened. I had written a review about this funeral home and my interactions with the OWNER OF THIS FUNERAL HOME and he had not only responded telling me to take my review down, but had google remove my review. He doesn’t want anything that will ruin his star rating, which is why he clearly had someone write two reviews that were identical and a rebuttal to mine on not only this funeral home, but also the other Gibbons funeral home in Elmhurst. Same person, same review, stating the same thing, but he removed mine because of that same thing? The only difference is because my review was negative towards his business, but was completely valid and he knows that. PLEASE STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM ALL THREE OF THIS FUNERAL HOMES! They have NO compassion for anyone and they will lie and make excuses to cover up those lies. The owners are very sketchy.
