My parents passed within two weeks of each other. Demaine was the most respectful, nicest organization to deal with. There was never any sort of “selling” going on, just helping us understand what our options were. All the staff were patient, compassionate, and made things easy for us, and the facility was always set up flawlessly for our wakes and services. The memorial displays they set up for us with personal items we supplied were not something we had considered, but once we saw them we were amazed at how lovely and comforting they were. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Death is hard. Having had a family member in eminent danger of passing, we contacted multiple funeral homes in the area. Some funeral homes would not even put the funeral director on the phone. Others wouldn’t give us pricing. Finally, we approached Demaine Funeral home in Alexandria. We were put in touch with George Rivera. From the first conversation with him, we realized he was the person we wanted to handle the details. His knowledge of the process and his willingness to make himself available to answer any questions we had was impressive. His compassion, and kind words were a comfort to us during this difficult time. When our loved one passed, the representatives who took our loved one to their facilities were very gentle and considerate. Mr Rivera stayed in contact with us sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. He answered all our text messages and emails almost immediately. Since our loved one was going overseas, Mr Rivera made arrangements to go to the Department of Health for the certificates, to the Ethiopian embassy to complete needed documentation and to the Ethiopian Airlines office to complete all necessary documents. After our loved one went home, Demaine realized that the amount charged by the airline was less than the quote, they refunded the difference. Demaine Funeral home was not the cheapest funeral home out there but they were the ones that listened to us, answered our questions and fixed any issues that arose.

The Funeral Director at Demaine Funeral Home on Alexandria VA patiently walked us through our decision making with calm and competent consideration.
